This $864 Million Project Involves Retrofitting the North and South Side Spans.
This project involves the seismic retrofit of the Suspension Bridge’s two main towers and its two side spans, including the retrofit of the main towers leg bases, strengthening of the stiffening trusses, replacement of the top lateral bracing, retrofit of the bottom lateral bracing, installation of new longitudinal struts, replacement of roadway thermal expansion finger joints with isolation deck joints, and installation of solid state Energy Dissipation Devices.
The Project is Expected to be Completed in 6 Years
Cost: $20 (ASCE members) / $30 (ASCE non-members) / $1 (ASCE Student members)
