We are dedicated to fostering a culture of knowledge sharing amongst peers, recognizing it as a cornerstone of growth and innovation in our field. By curating engaging and relevant events, workshops, and seminars, we aim to provide our members with valuable opportunities for continuous learning and skill enhancement. Through our commitment to excellence and collaboration, we strive to empower civil engineers to tackle current and future challenges with confidence and expertise.<\/p><h3 style=\"text-align: CO-CHAIR<\/h3><p style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">With over 30 years of experience in structural engineering, including seven years in Japan specializing in earthquake-resistant design, Mr. <b>Yusuf Z. G\u00fcndo\u011fdu<\/b>\u00a0has extensive expertise in high-performance earthquake engineering. His experience includes the design of critical structures such as long-span bridges, tall buildings, base-isolated hospitals and data centers, onshore and offshore structures, integrating innovative damping solutions for new design and retrofitting.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">He holds a Master of Science degree in Structural Engineering. He is an active member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the Japan Society of Seismic Isolation (JSSI), the International Association for Bridges &amp; Structures (IABSE), the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute (EERI), and the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH).\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">With a global perspective and multilingual proficiency in Turkish, Japanese, French, and English, he is dedicated to professional development within the engineering community. He is a registered professional engineer (PE) in California. With over 18 years of experience in both the public and private sectors, Mun has worked on water infrastructure, geotechnical engineering, special inspection, materials testing, construction management, and construction defect\/litigation work throughout his career.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: left\">He has worked on a diverse array of civil engineering projects, such as K-12 schools, universities, hospitals, cities\/public works, courthouses, transportation, commercial development, parks and recreation, oil\/energy, and insurance claims.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: left\">Currently, Mun oversees the procurement process for EBMUD\u2019s capital improvement projects and provides specifications, drawing, and cost estimating support for water treatment plant, pumping plant, pipeline, rate control station, reservoirs, and building facilities upgrade projects.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: left\">Mun holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from U.C. COMMITTEE CO-CHAIR<\/h3><p style=\"text-align: left\">Mr. Sai Murali Sriramineni is a distinguished civil engineer specializing in construction safety research, public infrastructure construction management, infrastructure resilience, and public works safety. He is a licensed Construction Manager (State of Idaho), Certified Construction Manager (CCM), Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM), Project Management Professional (PMP), LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP BD+C and O+M), USACE Construction Quality Management (CQM) Certified, and OSHA Authorized Construction Industry Outreach Trainer for 10-hour and 30-hour construction safety courses. He has made significant contributions to public infrastructure projects across California, New York, New Jersey, Illinois, Missouri, and Michigan.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: left\">Currently serving as a Transportation Civil Engineer \u2013 Area Safety Coordinator at the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) District 4 office in Oakland, CA, Mr. Sriramineni&#8217;s work is centered on applied research aimed at enhancing construction safety practices and advancing public safety objectives. In collaboration with the Division of Construction, he systematically investigates, develops, and implements innovative safety products, services, and operational processes that align with federal, state, and local safety and health laws and regulations, including Federal OSHA regulations, Cal\/OSHA regulations, FHWA regulations, the Federal MUTCD, the California MUTCD, and the California Code of Regulations (CCR).<br \/>As part of his research-driven responsibilities, Mr. Sriramineni provides safety training, conducts field safety documentation audits, performs project site safety compliance inspections, and reviews sites with higher rates of safety incidents. His work contributes directly to the continuous improvement of Caltrans&#8217; Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP), helping reduce incidents and enhancing the overall effectiveness of construction safety programs. His investigations focus on refining safety criteria, evaluating compliance standards, and advancing safety-related technological applications used across Caltrans projects.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: left\">Before joining Caltrans, Mr. Sriramineni served as a field civil engineer for 6 years on major public works and transportation projects for NJ Transit, Amtrak, Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ), New York City Department of Design and Construction (NYC DDC), New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA), the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT), the City of Detroit Department of Public Works, and various public agencies across New Jersey. In each role, he applied research-based safety and construction management practices to promote public safety and strengthen critical infrastructure systems. In 2025, Mr. Sriramineni represented the ASCE Golden Gate Branch as a Head Judge at the ASCE Mid-Pacific Symposium hosted by the University of California, Berkeley, where he evaluated and analyzed civil engineering student technical papers submitted for the MEAD competition by universities across the United States and China.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: left\">As an advocate for research-driven civil engineering, Mr. Sriramineni actively mentors STEM students and early-career STEM professionals through ACE Mentoring sessions and virtual outreach, promoting careers focused on public safety, civil engineering, construction management, and infrastructure development. In his volunteer role as Outreach Committee Chair for the ASCE Golden Gate Branch, he collaborates with Bay Area universities and colleges to advance research-driven education and professional opportunities. She began her career in education, teaching mathematics and environmental science to student-athletes at Grand River Academy and Spire Academy in Ohio. During that time, she was accepted into Stanford University, where she earned her master\u2019s degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: left\">In 2023, Erica started her first engineering role at AECOM in Oakland as a water wastewater conveyance engineer. Alongside her professional work, she became actively involved in ASCE San Francisco Younger Member Forum, serving as Secretary and leading the newsletter efforts. In the upcoming year, she will also serve as Student Outreach Committee Co-Chair with the ASCE Golden Gate Branch.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: left\">Erica is excited to reconnect with students and aims to foster a welcoming environment for minorities and women in STEM, drawing from her background in education and her passion for mentorship.
