Christmas Tree Lane began in 1920 with a single tree that was decorated to honor a child who had passed away. The tradition has grown every year for 100 years and is a staple of Fresno\u2019s holiday traditions.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Let\u2019s meet in the parking lot of The Habit in Fig Garden Shopping Center at 7:00 pm then we\u2019ll walk the lane and return to where we started.\u00a0Refreshments will be provided.\u00a0Please bring your spouse and kids!\u00a0Anyone who wants to catch dinner beforehand, meet up around 6 pm at The Habit.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n

October Branch Luncheon<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Caltrans structures representatives, Nathan Quiroz and Martin Garcia, gave an excellent presentation at our October 17th branch luncheon of the cutting-edge Kings River Bridge Replacement project on Route 41 south of Stratford.\u00a0This bridge was the first of its kind for Caltrans with pocket connections at the precast drop caps.\u00a0The pocket connections were filled with self-consolidating concrete after the precast beams were lowered onto driven piles.\u00a0This is a new feature of Accelerated Bridge Construction (ABC) methods by Caltrans.\u00a0No luncheons are scheduled for November or December due to the holidays<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n

Student Chapter Banquet<\/span><\/u><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

The Student Chapter held their annual Banquet on November 14th at the Painted Table.\u00a0Our own Tony Akel was the featured speaker (he pitched in at the last minute in place of a San Francisco Section speaker).\u00a0The existing cabinet was recognized for their efforts and the new cabinet was introduced.\u00a0Thanks to all the firms who sponsored a table and attended the event.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n
