Members are encouraged to nominate themselves or other individuals who demonstrate a commitment to leadership, collaboration, and advancing the mission of ASCE. ABOUT OUR BOARD<\/span><\/h2>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/table>\n\n\n

\n

The Executive Board is responsible for guiding the Branch\u2019s mission, strategic direction, and financial stewardship. Board members provide governance, establish policy, approve budgets, and support development initiatives. In collaboration with committee chairs and members, the Board ensures the organization operates ethically, efficiently, and in alignment with its goals.<\/p>\n

  <\/p>\n

In addition to the Executive Board, the Branch relies on a range of committees, each led by a Committee Chair, to plan and execute events, initiatives, and outreach efforts that support the professional and public mission of ASCE.<\/p>\n

  <\/p>\n

The President, Vice President, and Secretary are elected annually by the membership. The Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer, Director-at-Large, and Committee Chairs are appointed by the Executive Board. <\/p>\n

  <\/p>\n

All officers and committee chairs serve a one-year term, with the exception of the webmaster which requires a two-year commitment. Terms follow the ASCE year which begins October 1st and ends September 30th.<\/p>\n

ASCE San Francisco Section Individual Awards recognize individuals for outstanding achievements or leadership in civil engineering, or who through their work, support and advance the profession. Nominations can be made by any Branch, Younger Member Forum, Life Member Forum, Technical Group, Committee, or individual member. Additional specific criteria governing each Individual Award must also be satisfied.<\/p>\n

  <\/p>\n

ASCE San Francisco Section Project Awards recognize outstanding Civil Engineering projects in the San Francisco Section geographic area. Only projects completed within the San Francisco Section geographic area are eligible for consideration.
