y of Gonzales' Approach to Wastewater System Expansion\n\nCity of Gonzales
’ Wastewater System Expansion Program is a phased infrastructure initiat
ive to upgrade and expand the City’s wastewater treatment capacity to su
pport residential growth and industrial development while meeting updated
regulatory requirements. The program includes construction of a new 1.0 MG
D industrial wastewater treatment facility\, development of a dedicated in
dustrial wastewater conveyance system\, and rehabilitation and upgrade of
the existing municipal wastewater treatment plant.\n\nThe project will shi
ft approximately 850\,000 gallons per day of industrial ag-wash flows from
the existing plant to the new industrial system\, allowing for efficient
treatment tailored to agricultural discharges. Following this diversion\,
the existing treatment plant will be rehabilitated and upgraded to meet cu
rrent discharge requirements. Upon completion of Phase 2\, the combined sy
stem will provide a total capacity of approximately 2.9 MGD\, with future
expansion of the industrial system to 3.5 MGD and incorporation of recycle
d water capabilities to support long-term growth through 2048.\n\nAbout th
